Frequently Asked Questions

What conditions do you treat?

At Wellford Medical Clinics, we specialise in pain conditions, including chronic pain, arthritis, and neuropathic pain conditions. You can find out more about the conditions we treat here.

Cannabis was rescheduled in November 2018, allowing specialist clinicians to prescribe medical cannabis products for a wide range of conditions to patients in the UK.

Medical cannabis can have many different effects on different people. This means that some patients may experience side effects such as nausea, dizziness, and dry mouth; however, side effects associated with medical cannabis products are usually considered to be mild.

Our specialist clinicians strive to identify the right products and treatment plans for each patient with an aim to achieve effective results and minimise unwanted side effects.

Cannabis contains THC – a psychoactive compound which may be addictive for some people; however, medical cannabis typically contains much lower concentrations of THC, reducing the risk of addiction.

Furthermore, our specialist clinicians are trained to closely observe each patient and identify possible signs of addiction. Treatment plans will be tailored to each patient to minimise side effects, including addiction.

The cost of appointments will vary depending on whether it is your initial appointment, or a follow-up appointment.

You can find more information on appointment costs here.

The effects of medical cannabis treatment will differ from patient to patient, depending on a range of factors.

Our clinicians will assess your treatment plan carefully to identify the most appropriate products for the treatment of your condition.

In most cases, we hope that medical cannabis treatment will be effective within a few months; however, this will vary. It is also important to note that medical cannabis does not work for everyone.
